Jockey P2P is in the living room

Jockey continues to answer the call for multiple use clothing for women.  Watch this video to see how these pieces will expand your wardrobe

Today’s look for Miss “A”

So you have hips… so what!  You hippy girls have shape and with the right clothes your shape is one many men find very attractive.  Did you know JLo is a Miss “A”?  Who wouldn’t want to look like her?  If you are looking to minimize your shape a good rule of thumb is to keep your darks on the bottom and lights on top.   Find bottoms with more than one purpose like the reversible pull on pants from Jockey Person to Person, wear them with the sport top and jacket and look like you spent time exercising.  Who knows you might be inspired to actually spend time exercising! Find fashion that fits with Jockey Person to Person

Change your top into a fun print with detail and bring the focus up, swirly prints are slimming and detail around the neck and face leave a positive lasting impression.  Prints add interest to a plain pair of bottoms but if you find prints too much for you tone them down with something solid over top.  Stepping out of your comfort zone takes practice but I assure you it’s worth all the compliments you will receive when you choose the right outfit for your shape.  Embrace your curves and wear outfits that showcase your shapely figure, when you have it why not flaunt it?  Go girl!

Need help finding something that works for your shape?  I have been helping women all across North America discover their ‘look’ and I can help you too.   If you have any questions or comments about this or any blog on my site I would love to hear them! Adventure # 6700009

Okay, I admit I just couldn’t stay away.  My addiction has gotten the best of me and I can no longer resist the gravitational pull.  I have jumped back in with both feet and I have to say it feeeeeeels goooooood to be baaaaack!

I just signed up with Jockey Person 2 Person as a comfort specialist and it feels like I’m home again.  I missed working with women on their fashion needs, I missed seeing the excitement in their eyes when they put on an outfit that was absolutely perfect for them, I missed the camaraderie of working with like-minded consultants and grateful clients.  I am back and ready to share the Jockey collection with past and future clients.

What a great way to start off – Jockey has just announced starting July 1st the 75% off sale begins!  It only runs until July 21st so if you are looking for deep discounts on clothing now is the time to see what there is available.  I know from past experience this sale is popular and sell out quickly so there is no room for “thinking about it”.  If you are not familiar with the clothes ask me to bring out the samples so you can see colors and sizing.   You will still reach me at: lisawilliamstoday@gmail.com and 604-885-8282, that part hasn’t changed.

As you all know I am not known for doing just one thing at a time and you won’t be surprised to hear I am also working with Candace Campo and Talaysay Tours for the summer as her right hand help.  I am behind the scenes most of the time but occasionally out front and always available.  If you are not familiar with Talaysay Tours take a moment to see what they are all about www.talaysay.com.  Candace started this kayak company back in 2003 and is respected in the community as a successful First Nations business operating on the Sunshine Coast of BC.  Her specialty is storytelling and sharing her ancestral stories about the Shishalh (Sechelt) people through custom kayak tours and presentations.  Two popular tours offered by Talaysay Tours are: First Nations Interpretive Paddle (available as 3.5hrs, 6hrs and extended 2nights/3day options) and the Talking Trees tour (a 90 min walking tour).  Besides tours Talaysay offers daily kayak rentals from Egmont and Sechelt and in the winter they put the kayaks away and bring out the snowshoes for more tours and rentals.  This year Talaysay expanded into the North Shore and specifically Deep Cove.  One of the tasks I have with Talaysay is to keep you informed about upcoming events and promoting tours.  If you are interested in knowing the details follow us on Facebook (search for Talaysay Tours) or connect with me on Twitter (lisa_d_williams).

But wait there’s more!  I have been and continue to work on various other projects for myself and clients through my parent company called Personal Touch Best Solutions (P.T. Best Solutions) providing business administration services, personal assistant services and general back seat support without the nagging.  A developing area of this business is the online media support that I am often asked to provide.  This excites me because, as many of you know, I love talking, socializing and being on my computer so the thought of spending time doing all three at the same time makes me giddy.  You will see that I am actively promoting myself and others via Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin and if you would like to stay in the loop those are the places to do so.  Stay tuned for an exciting project Laurie McConnell with Bigpacific.com and I are working on…

That’s enough excitement for one day, stay tuned for more adventures!

Enjoy yours,

Lisa

New focus for Lisa Williams Today

I am excited to explore another adventure!  This blog site is changing it’s focus from fashion to sharing my views of customer service excellence here on the Sunshine Coast!  I am still passionate about fashion and I have dedicated my new website Grand Central Fashion to help women wear their inner beauty on the outside through smart fashion choices but Lisa Williams Today is about local business (I mean local Sunshine Coast businesses), my customer service experience in their stores and sharing that experience with you.

My personal goal is to raise the level of excellence in the business community on the Sunshine Coast and I believe if we focus on the businesses already providing excellent service we can inspire others to bring it up a notch or two.  We do have wonderful leaders in the business community and it’s important to let them know “we see them”.

As I experience all business practices here I will also use this site to talk about all kinds of experiences – good and bad; all in the name of building a stronger business community here on the Sunshine Coast.  Be forewarned I will not be wearing my rose colored glasses, my comments will be direct and sometimes harsh and I make no apology for that.  At the end of the day I hope to provide inspiration, education, admiration, stimulate conversation, instigate changation (I know it’s not a word but it goes with the rest so forgive me) and realise my vision of making the Sunshine Coast “the best place in Canada to operate a small business”.

If you would like to learn more about business on the Sunshine Coast stay connected!  Who knows perhaps one day you will have a business here and I will talk about you too.  What will I say about you?

Adventure # 651297 Chapter 2

Many of you have known me for years and you have watched me explore one adventure after another in search of  one that works for me.  Just over a year ago I started this latest one with the same passion and drive I bring to all my adventures but somewhere in the past year I started to see a difference with this one.  I have discovered that not only do I love what I do but I see myself doing it for many years.  In fact I just can’t picture myself not doing it!  I am talking about being a fashion advisor and working with women who understand the value of fashion.

This past year has been filled with discovery and clarification in regards to the question, “What do I really want to do with my time?”

I want to:  help women wear confidence and compliments everyday through better wardrobe choices

I want to: change the way women in Canada buy clothes, to help them make wise choices that flatter their body shapes and celebrate their individual personalities

I want to: help women understand that quality over quantity can fit their budget, no matter what that is, without compromising their style

and I want to: make a comfortable living for myself doing it.

Henry Ford said: “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t; you are right”

I think I can and I look forward to making it happen with your help.

Answering the question “why?”

This morning I was thinking about what I do with my time and what motivates me to continue doing what I do with my time.  This morning I had a A-HA moment that has prompted me to share my thoughts with you and perhaps, if you haven’t already, you will have your own A-HA moment as a result.  The experiences I have had over the past year have helped me to see clearly the why, how and what and I have you to thank for that clarity.

Recently, with the planning of the charity fashion show, I have come to realise that people really do want to help me succeed.  For the support from Merrilee, Lina, the models, the women who bought tickets, the staff at Chasters and many others behind the scenes I truly feel blessed for the network of people that support me.  The fashion show was a massive success because of that support.

Today my A-HA moment came when the answer to what motivates and drives me became resoundingly clear.  For this clarity I thank Candace, Lenora, Margo and Judi for showing me what it is that I love most about the path I have chosen.

I love to help women match their outer beauty to their inner beauty; to see the sparkle in their eyes when they put on an outfit that fits them perfectly – this is intoxicating to me and what drives me to do even more.

Thinking about how I can do more I have come up with these thoughts: I will continue to represent EVEology as a consultant because this Canadian company offers a good quality product and their philosophy regarding women matches my own and I want to offer more value-added services in order to turn this part-time job into a full time career.  Through group workshops and personal consultations I want to:

  • help women wear confidence and compliments everyday with of their outfit choices
  • help women create healthier wardrobes that work for their pocketbook and the environment
  • help women to adopt a “less is more” attitude and change the way they purchase clothing in Canada
  • help women learn to love what they have (body image) and have what they love (great outfits)

I am thinking of using a commercial space (likely in Sechelt but not decided yet) to offer ongoing workshops, shopping opportunities and consulting services in a central location rather than my home.  Committing to a commercial space is a huge leap for me and your support is vital.  My question to you is: would you continue to support me as a client and referring my services to others if I were in an easy-to-access central location?  I would appreciate hearing your answer to this question and comments/suggestions if you have any of those as well.

By the way the original inspiration that prompted me to send this note came from a video Dave Allen shared with me this morning.  It makes sense to me to share this gift with you.  Use this link to see what gave me my A-HA moment. http://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action.html

Inspirational Women – Laurie McConnell

Laurie McConnell has been and continues to be an inspiration to me in many ways; one of the best lessons that I have learned from her is to know what’s in your heart and stay true to what’s in your heart – no matter how hard it gets to do so.

I first met Laurie back in 1999 when we worked together on the newly formed Sunshine Coast Bed and Breakfast, Cottage Owners Association.  Then we were 12 members with a common goal – to raise awareness of the growing B&B and cottage industry and work together to bring guests to the Sunshine Coast.  Laurie was the internet goddess of the group with a vision ahead of its time.  Her website bigpacific.com continues to be the best resource for information on BC’s Sunshine Coast.  It wasn’t until years later that I really came to appreciate Laurie and what she stood for.  She didn’t make it easy for me to get to know her at first, which now when I look at it, was a good thing because it made our friendship more valuable and richer.  I did find a way to work with Laurie and the best part of our working relationship were the ‘walking meetings’ we had most mornings.  We walked and discussed business strategies for the day, the week and the future; I found those meetings so energizing.  The best workout plan I ever followed.   When Laurie made a decision in her life to honor her beliefs and convictions, despite the adversity she was to face,  I was there to see how Laurie’s unwavering commitment to those beliefs helped her through it all.   I am thankful for having Laurie in my life; she is a constant reminder for me to know what’s in my heart and to stay true to what’s in my heart no matter how hard it is to do so.  Laurie once told me if I was ever stuck in a Turkish jail and only had one phone call that I should call her because she would be there to bail me out; you are a true friend Laurie!  Thank you for your friendship and continued inspiration to be true…
